In true JRPG fashion, Chained Echoes gives players have the option to upgrade their weapons and armor through the use of Crystals. These can be found throughout each area of the three Kingdoms, however its numbers vary. Crystals can be fused together, changing its stats. With each holding a different ability, these can be used to help you and your Clan tremendously as you progress through the story. However with the Crystals appearing everywhere and being able to respawn, where are the best places to farm? This guide will show you where you should farm Crystals in Chained Echoes. There are the current best spots to infinitely farm.
How to Get the Airship in Chained Echoes
Obtaining the Airship is crucial to Crystal farming in Chained Echoes. Having the ability to fast-travel around the map regardless of where you start is an incredibly useful tool. This, alongside unlocking the Sky Armor will help you tremendously in completing Side Quests. For those who have not yet unlocked the Airship, you need to first become a licensed clan. You can do this only by progressing through the main story and completing the Main Quest called ‘Three Months Later’. This quest has two parts, you need to complete both to gain access to the Airship.
Completing ‘Mount Rydell’ of ‘Three Months Later’ will end in obtaining the Himmelskaiser. From this point on, the Himmelskaiser Airship will give you access to area you have not yet seen. To use the Airship, press ‘K’ if you are playing Chained Echoes on PC. You can change controls and keybinds in ‘Settings’.

Best Locations to Farm Crystals
Isle of Messages
The first place you need to visit is the Isle of Messages. Only accessible via the use of the Airship. Whilst this area does not add much gameplay or value to the game, it is a fantastic area to farm Crystals in Chained Echoes. This island can be found on the furthest north-west side of the map. Head to the far west corner once you open the map to move your Airship. You will see a small island made up of a grouping of rock formations, this is the Isle of Messages.
Once here, you will want to do a full sweep of the island, taking an anticlockwise approach from the southern entrance. Heading east first and then circling round to the north and finishing on the western-side of the island.
Fiorwoods
The next place you want to visit for farming Crystals is at Fiorwoods. You will have visited Fiorwoods relatively early on in Chained Echoes as early main questlines take place there. If you have unlocked the Transport Crystal on the western-side of Fiorwoods, use it to fast-travel to the farming area. If you have not got this teleporter, you will have to fight two Wyrms (Dragons) on the western side of the map to get to this area. Head north via the wooden platforms above the Woods, here you will find and collect six Crystals.
In the screenshot below of Fiorwoods, you need to head to the Crystal on the left-side of the map. If you transport here, head north. If you are heading here via walking through Fiorwoods and beating the two Dragons, you will enter the wooden platforms via the north-west side of the map.
Ograne Grotto
The final spot we recommend for farming Crystals is inside Ograne Grotto. You can get to this area via using a Transport Crystal. You need to teleport to the exact Crystal in the screenshot below. Inside the caves, head north and follow the path until you reach its end. At the first intersection, head north-west (the highest path on the left side of the screen). Keep heading to the left and you will see two black loading screens until reaching a dead-end. This is the same path you would have taken in the ‘For the Love of Food’ Side Quest (if you have completed it).
If you have never entered Ograne Grotto before, fast-travel to Rohlan Fields first. From here, use the Sky Armor to travel to the northern entrance of Farnsport in Rohlan Fields. Or enter the waterfalls of Rohlan Fields. To get here, fast-travel to the teleport point at the north side of Rohlan Fields. Enter your Sky Armor and head far-left until you cross over to the next screen (you will see a loading screen appear where you crossed over). Keep flying to the left (east) where you will see Waterfalls. Drop down onto the platform on the far-right Waterfall and walk through. This will take you into the entrance of Ograne Grotto.
Keep in mind that if you enter this way, you will have to fight your way through the caves to get to the Transport Crystal and the farming areas.
Conclusion
Those are the current best places to farm Crystals in Chained Echoes. These will respawn after every 30 minutes. If you have visited all of these areas before, you will be able to access them again easily via the Transport Crystals.
