How to Imbue Sword with Magic in Potion Craft

Toss a coin to your alchemist.

Did a particular monster-hunting, grey-haired, stoic customer ask you to imbue their sword with magic in Potion Craft? Of course they did – but you don’t know what exactly that kind of request means. Perhaps you tried selling them a Potion of Mana and it didn’t work, so know you’re out of ideas.

Luckily for you, I’m not. Instead of sitting around turning customers away, I’m going to show you how to imbue a sword with magic in Potion Craft. Well, more specifically, I’m going to show you how to brew a potion to imbue a sword with magic – you’re an alchemist, not an enchanter.

Potion Craft – How to Imbue Sword with Magic

There are three potion recipes that all fulfill this requirement. All three are fairly early-game potions, too, so you don’t need to worry about not knowing how to find them on the map.

Potion of Fire

Potion Craft’s Potion of Fire is arguably the easiest recipe to make in the entire game. It’s the first potion you learn in the tutorial, so you shouldn’t need me to walk you through how to make it. All the same, I will:

  • 2x Fireball – Fully Crushed.
  • 1x Fireball – Half Crushed.
  • 1x Fireball – Uncrushed.
  • Water.

Now, anytime somebody asks you to imbue their sword with magic or has a request along the same lines, you’ll know how to fulfill it.

Fulfilling requests like this with Potions of Fire, while fast, is not very profitable. It’s not your only option, though. If you’re more in the mid-to-late game, you might prefer one of these other potions, instead.

Potion of Frost

A Potion of Frost isn’t going to be much better than a Potion of Fire for imbuing a sword with magic. It is a slight step up, though, and it still counts for that customer request – so, I’m going to go over how to make one:

  • 2x Waterbloom – Fully Crushed.
  • 1x Waterblooom – Uncrushed.

That’s it, you don’t even need water or anything. Having said that, this potion isn’t much better than a Potion of Fire in terms of profitability. If you’re really looking to juice up your margins, then you want to be making the last potion eligible for an “imbue my sword with magic” type of request.

Potion of Lightning

Potions of Lightning are a fair step up from Potions of Fire and Frost. How much you sell them for reflects that, too. You won’t get to charge crazy numbers for them – they’re not in that upper price bracket. However, they will go for more than the other two aforementioned elemental potions. This is the recipe I use to create a Potion of Lightning in Potion Craft:

  • 1x Spellbloom – Fully Crushed. Witch Mushrooms can be used as substitutes.
  • 1x Windbloom – Fully Crushed.
  • 1x Shadow Chanterelle – 3/4s Crushed.
  • Water – Gradually add and mix with Shadow Chanterelle to line up the node.

All three of these potions fulfill the request, and none of them are overly difficult or expensive to make. So, next time a customer asks you to imbue their sword with magic – you know what to brew.
