Your first major objective is a simple one – obtain the Purifying Crystal. In order to do this, you will need three specific items, all being masks. These are the Bronze Mask, Silver Mask and Gold Mask. We will go into detail below how to locate them, what you need to do to obtain them, and how to implement them to finally get your hands on the lifechanging Purifying Crystal.

How to Find All Masks in Resident Evil Village DLC Shadows of Rose DLC

First Mask – Bronze

There are three masks to locate and obtain in Shadows of Rose within Lady Dimitrescu’s castle. It’s the first major area and objective to clear. Players should already be more than familiar with the grounds of Lady Dimitrescu’s realm, so keep that in mind when noting down where the Courtyard is. It will be the first most important area to you that you will need to immediately access. But this takes time and effort.

In order to access it, head towards the Kitchen after the first cutscene upon entering the Grand Hall ends. This is from the left through the Dining Room’s double doors. You will see another door that is bolted shut with sturdy chains in this room. Locate the Bolt Cutters in the same area and use them on this door to gain access to the Courtyard.

With the Courtyard now unlocked, your next task is to power up Rose’s abilities to break the Mold core in the middle of the area. This is where the first mask is concealed. This can be done when finding the key item of Power Amplifiers, or rather, all four RW-Variant Flasks. For the first one, head towards the Library from the Courtyard. This room will be filled with spawned Face Eaters, so head straight to the only exit at the end of the hall.

From there, stairs are to the left of it. Interact with a ladder to safely cross moving Mold masses. Your destination will be obvious when interacting with your environment – move past or through the furniture and head up one more ladder to reach the Workshop. Michael will point out the reward awaiting you on the table right in front of you. This will grant you the ability to break the Mold cores around the castle. Your next port of call is returning back the way you came to reach the Courtyard once more, where holding down the ability button will break the Mold cores for additional items or new pathways and areas to become available.

Second Mask – Silver

Now return to the Grand Hall. Having now placed the Bronze mask onto the statue, turn to face the stairs in the same area. Destroy the core in its midsection and pick up the hand-drawn map on the floor near the right of the top of the stairs. Turn left and grab resources from that stretch of corridor. Then turn right and head all the way to the furthest end of the corridor. You will be destroying more cores as you reach an area that spawns a horde of Face Eaters in a compact room found at the end of this area.

Follow the instructions Michael provides to keep Rose safe. Eventually he will instruct her to go through a Fireplace. Go back the way you came after picking up another Power Amplifier and head towards the Dressing Room. The first Monocular Key awaits you here. Now go back to the Courtyard and use the Monocular Key on the door that leads to the Bedchamber. Complete the statue puzzle in it to access a new area – the Dungeon.

When dropped into it, explore everywhere to grab more resources and head to the very back of the area. The Silver Mask will be obtainable at this corner. Retrace your steps to exit the area but know that a horde of Face Eaters will now spawn. Use Rose’s newly amped up abilities to slow them down to bypass them. Try to stock up on ammo as much as possible since these guys can tank way too many shots to fully down, making killing them not worthwhile. Go all the way back to the Grand Hall and grab all items along the way – this includes the Snake Painting which is important for the next Mask.

Third Mask – Gold

The gold Mask can be found in the Opera Hall, which can be accessed from the Courtyard. The only way to get to the gold Mask is by climbing the furniture around the Mold masses to safely manoeuvre across the floor. Don’t get caught in it and instead stay calm when on any bit of furniture which is safe to stand on. Look around the area for Mold cores to break. Upon breaking them, other chunks or furniture pieces will fall down, creating a pathway in reaching the Gold Mask. Face Eaters will start to spawn the closer you get to the Mask so get it quickly. Then, use Rose’s abilities on them to slow them down and completely bypass them.

With this last mask now in hand, put the masks in the order of low to high quality from left to right. The left statue should have the Bronze mask, the bottom middle statue should don the Silver mask, and the right statue should be wearing the Gold mask. Congratulations, you have now completed the first segment of Shadows of Rose!
