You can now create new gear by completing the Recipes, similar to that of Minecraft, and Trade your goods for an improved variation of what you previously owned. Not only this but, you will be able to alter your weapons in the deployment by using the new Contraband Workbench. What is the Contraband Workbench in DMZ?

The Contraband Workbench is a brand new function added for DMZ Season 3. It allows players to alter their Loadout by sticking to your Tuning of the weapon through its attachments. Players can shift through the various attachments available for their weapon, and replace them whenever they please, throughout their deployment. However, the process of doing so comes at a price. If the attachment is locked, you need to pay a price of $3,000, regardless of the attachment type. So if you are looking to add a Silencer or increase your mobility by going Stockless, you need to pay for this service. However, stripping these parts of another weapon or purchasing the attachment will allow you to place this on your primary weapon, so long as it is within the same weapon type.

Where to Find the Workbench

The Contraband Workbench can be found across all Maps in DMZ. It is exclusive to the DMZ Game Mode and gives players the opportunity to upgrade their grey Contraband Weapons found through looting or obtained off enemy AI. You can add up to 5 attachments onto these weapons to make them more viable and powerful on the field. These Workbenches are found throughout the AO and whilst they do not pop up on the Mini-map, you are guaranteed to find these next to any Buy Station. They will appear within a 2 metre radius of the Buy Station, where you can also Barter using the new Station system.

Due to their easily accessible location, players need to be cautious when attempting to upgrade their gear, regardless of which system they are trying to use. Taking your time to remove, destroy or add attachments can take you away from your deployment, leaving you open to getting shot at. For that reason, we do not recommend running in without checking the nearby area for other Operators. It is highly likely that Operators will be nearby rather than enemy AI and because of that, if they shoot you first whilst you have the Workbench Menu open, you will get taken out of the fight before it even begins. For that reason, opt to use Contraband Workbenches that are under shelter and not out in the open.

Remember that the Contraband Workbenches are located right next to any Buy Station. The Buy Station is always visible on the Map. If the Workbench and Station you are trying to use is out in the open, using a vehicle such as a Cargo Truck or Jeep will cover you from any bullets.
