Pearls are a new currency item in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The item entered the game in the first wave of the summer update on July 2, 2020. Since this update, players can now swim in the sea around their island, as long as they have their wet suit handy. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find pearls in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Where to find Pearls in Animal Crossing New Horizons
You can find Pearls in two different ways. First, pearls are one of the things you can find while searching for deep-sea creatures. It is not considered to be a critter and will not show up in the Critterpedia. There is a chance you scoop one up when you see a shadow, but there is no guaranteed way to find Pearls in the sea.
The other way to find a Pearl is by first finding a scallop and getting Pascal to appear. Pascal loves scallops, and he’s willing to give you either Mermaid DIY recipes or a Pearl for them. The new currency item is worth quite a few Bells, so you might want to hold onto them.
How to farm for Pearls in ACNH
There is no optimal way to find Pearls at the moment. They are a byproduct of searching for sea creatures. All you can do is search for deep-sea creatures as often as you can, and you will eventually find some Pearls.
Get yourself a wet suit, and start swimming around your island. While swimming, shadows will pop up, and you can try your luck and see what you can find. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a Pearl on your first try!
