There are many locations where you can find the Device, but we’ll be looking at one particular location in the middle section of the map in this guide. That’s why we’re here, though.

The Device is located at various locations around Fortnite island, including this one in the very middle of the map:

The specific location we’ll be landing at to grab the Device is southwest of Coney Crossroads, which is about the center of the map. It is near where you may remember Loot Lakes was in previous seasons. There is a compound in this area, and you’ll want to go into the center building. The Device is at ground level inside the center building. The item is a small briefcase on the ground, and you can just walk over to it and interact with it to complete the challenge.

After grabbing the Device, you’ll get a short briefing explaining why you needed to collect this. It’s part of the unfolding story of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1.

There is a full list of Device locations in the image below, visible from the quests tab on the in-game map menu. That’s where to discover the Device in Fortnite. Stay tuned for more quest walkthroughs and guides for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.
