If you’re like me, then you love having the chance to play as many great Call of Duty titles as possible. It seems that soon, we’ll be living in a time when there’s more Call of Duty than ever. I mean, that’s how things pretty much are with Modern Warfare 2 recently releasing, Call of Duty: Mobile being a strong on-the-go way to consume core COD gameplay, and the upcoming Warzone 2.0.
But things are somehow going to get even more Call of Duty oriented, as Warzone Mobile is on the horizon. And with another mobile title entering the fray, does this mean that COD: Mobile is on the way out? Today, we’ll answer the burning question, “What happens to Call of Duty: Mobile when Warzone Mobile releases?”.
What Happens to Call of Duty: Mobile When Warzone Mobile Releases? Answered
Though Warzone Mobile has yet to even receive a release date or a possible beta, it is a highly anticipated game for COD players that want to take the hustle with them wherever they go. And though Warzone is a game that really cannot be beaten in the Battle Royale landscape, in my opinion, there’s no doubt that COD: Mobile has a dedicated fanbase of players, myself included.
I personally enjoy its “everything but the kitchen sink”, approach to modes, maps, and guns available in-game. There really isn’t another COD title like it in the U.S., with fan-favorite aspects of just about every era of the franchise, all squished together in one, polished package.
But COD: Mobile also features its own Battle Royale mode that’s very similar to Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode. So, are two Call of Duty games running a BR mode going to run simultaneously, or is the older one going to get shut down?
Well, luckily, in an interview with GameSpot, when asked if the two games would overlap, Activision’s VP of mobile, Chris Plummer, stated “We’re very fortunate to have the awesome success of Call of Duty Mobile, and we are looking forward to continued success with CoD Mobile. We think Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is a different experience. This more connected experience is tapping into things like shared progression into the large Warzone style of gameplay and they’re going to live side by side.” and continued, “We’re very excited to have the good fortune of two amazing projects like that. But we haven’t discussed any details on a lot of plans beyond that.”.
So it would seem those loyal players of COD: Mobile won’t have to worry about the title fading away, as Activision is holding on and excited to have two successful titles running side-by-side that appeal to all kinds of COD players. And it makes sense. Though I love both COD multiplayer and Warzone, not all players feel the same, opting for one over the other. So it’s good to have choices and not be limited to just one.
Well, now you know everything you need to about whether or not Call of Duty: Mobile is going to disappear once Warzone Mobile hits mobile devices sometime soon.
