Each weapons has a unique feel and play style to it, so different types of players might prefer different weapons over others. Nobody wants to see the entire server running around using Spitfires, so we’re happy to see a lot of solid weapon choices.

Over the past few days we’ve seen a few guns shoot to the top of the best guns list. These are the top 5 guns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Top 5 Guns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

AK47

The AK47 is a classic weapon that seems to be in nearly every first person shooter ever created. In Modern Warfare it continues to be a weapon of choice for most players, boasting some serious stopping power capable of dropping enemies in a couple shots.

If you are familiar with the AK47, you know one of its downfalls is crazy unpredictable recoil. If you can manage to get the recoil under control, the AK47 will easily become one of your most favored assault rifles in the game.

M4A1

This classic assault rifle is one of the first guns you will use in the game, but its an all around solid weapon of choice. Good accuracy, recoil control, and stock iron sight make this one of our favorites.

While it may not have all the bells and whistles that other assault rifles have, you will always see many people opt for this weapon over other ARs no matter what your level.

725

What would a Call of Duty game be without some good shotguns? Everyone hates to be on the opposing end of one, but you have to admit it’s fun to be using one of these bad boys. The 725 has a tight spread, and if you can “chunk” an enemy with one of these, it’s pretty much a guaranteed frag.

Obviously the 725 excels at close range, but it can even be used at close-medium range effectively. Be warned, this gun only holds two shells at a time so don’t forget to reload and shoot efficiently.

P90

Weapon fire rate is one of the most essential factors to look at when it comes to how quickly you can destroy your opponents. You may be familiar with the P90, an SMG with a super fast rate of fire.

Not only does it fire of shots like lightning, but it holds 50 rounds per clip which can prove useful in long gunfights or taking down multiple enemies at once. This is more of a close-medium range weapon, so you may want to avoid it on big open maps.

HDR

We covered the HDR in our list of best sniper rifles in Modern Warfare. It is the sniper rifle of choice for any serious snipers out there. A shot from this is pretty much a guaranteed one shot kill.

In our opinion, the HDR is the best sniper rifle in the game and most effective on maps like Tavorsk District. Its incredible accuracy and decent reload speed make it a deadly weapon and a great one to master.
