The Finals Closed Beta: Release Date and End Time – Full Details

Dry runs are important for any good show.

Most TV shows, even ones that are supposed to be live, usually go through rehearsals to ensure that everyone knows what they’re supposed to be doing. There’s nothing worse than someone accidentally spouting a curse word during the real broadcast, after all, so we gotta make sure everyone hits their marks. To get ready for the real deal, here’s what you need to know about The Finals‘ closed beta.

The Finals Closed Beta: Release Date and End Time – Full Details

From March 7 to March 21, free-to-play first-person-shooter The Finals is available for users to try out in a closed beta. Anyone can join in on the chaotic fun via the game’s Steam page and play for free until the beta period ends (though the full game will be free to play as well).

To join the closed beta, all you need to do is visit the game’s Steam page and click the “Request Access” button on the “Join the The Finals Playtest” window. A lot of players have joined in on the fun already, so you might not get in right away, but when they’re ready to accept more players into the test, you’ll get an email informing you that you’ve been accepted. After that, just install the game through your Steam library like you would any other game and you can log in to play.

What’s Included in the Beta?

The beta for The Finals features both casual matchmaking and ranked tournament play, with the best players during the beta period being ranked on the leaderboards. There’s also a practice range where you can experiment with various gadgets and weapons, as well as the game’s primary gameplay gimmick, its destructible environments.

Players can also unlock weapons, gadgets, and cosmetics for regular play by winning matches, though it’s not clear if beta progress will carry over into the game when it releases for real (best to assume it doesn’t, though).

If you’re looking for a chaotic new shooter set in cities you can absolutely tear to pieces, join in on the combat reality game show that is The Finals!
