If you own enough materials, you can easily just craft an item instead of finding it. Loot can be found in various places throughout the game such as dead enemies, chests, and vendors. An innovative feature added to the game is the targeted loot system. in this guide, we’ll explain what targeted loot is and how to find it.

The Division 2 – What is targeted loot and how to find it

The Division 2 features a Targeted loot system. This system makes it so that the loot allocation for the entire map every few hours. This means after every 8 hours, the type of loot available in the open world will change. Targeted loot does not replace the regular loot drops you get in-game, it’s added as a bonus. Players will gain access to targeted loot once they reach level 40. With targeted loot, players can find specific types of loot. Here is a list of the different loot types that can be found:

  • Weapon Archetypes
  • Gear Slots
  • Brands
  • Gear Mods / Skill Mods
  • Gear Sets

You’ll know that you’ve found targeted loot if the item in question has a gold-colored column surrounding it. Targeted loot can be found in many places but it is only guaranteed to drop under certain conditions. Named bosses and NPCs in the open world and Dark Zone both drop targeted loot. Finishing an activity in the open world also drops guaranteed loot.
