Sons of the Forest Latest Update Adds Hotkeys for Keyboard and Mouse

At long, long last.

We didn’t think it would, but it has finally happened. Sons of the Forest has received a hotfix, Hotfix #2, which fixes the infuriating and unreasonable inventory system. Actual hotkeys have been added, which will make the gaming experience much, much better for players and provide a less stressful time playing. And they have doubled down in their inclusion of hotkeys, turning against their strict realism for mercy and generosity.

Sons of the Forest have finally added hotkeys

Before Hotfix #2, Sons of the Forest was a barbaric game of inconvenience and frustration. The backpack was the best solution to the inventory feature, which saw players having to splay out their entire inventory every time they wanted to retrieve something. Realism seemed to be the focus of the devs when they excluded hotkeys and keybinds.

But since the highly negative reviews of the inventory feature specifically, it has seemed the developers of Sons of the Forest have performed a U-turn. Not only were hotkeys added, but players can benefit from ten of them, as you can assign an item for every number on the keyboard. This feature has yet to be implemented into consoles.

It is safe to say that players are very happy with this adjustment.

How to use hotkeys in Sons of the Forest

Hotkeys are, mercifully, easy to use. Simply go into your inventory and hover your cursor over an object. Press the number on your keyboard that you want to assign the item to. Now whenever you press that number, you’ll retrieve the item that you assigned to it. Simple as. Now you can grab your guns in a moment’s notice.
