Elections are important because whoever wins during a political battle will have the ability to inflict change. You can’t escape politics and even in video games, there are moments where you need to make a decision on who to vote for or which side to pick. Choosing sides has never been easy for us because we like pleasing everyone. Video games teach you that no matter what side you pick you can’t make everyone happy. In Zelda’s Tears of the Kingdom, you will have to choose either voting for Cece or Reede during the elections. Who should you choose?

What Happens if You Choose Cece or Reede in Tears of the Kingdom?

When you first arrive at the city of Hateno Village you will meet a mushroom-wearing fashionista named Cece. She’s curious as to who Link is going to be voting for in the upcoming election. Are you a Cece voter or a Reede voter? If you answer that you’re a Cece voter you will unlock a long questline that involves multiple quests including:

  • Team Cece or Team Reede
  • Cece’s Secret
  • Reede’s Secret
  • The Mayoral Election

Completing the quest will unlock a very popular item, known as Cece’s Hat, from the Ventest Clothing Boutique. You can also buy the Royal Guard Uniform at the boutique. The hat is popular because it makes Link look like a mushroom queen.

What Happens if You Choose Reede in Tears of the Kingdom?

If you decide to choose Reede or the option declaring you’re undecided, Cece will become enraged and will throw you out. Technically she asks her assistant to escort you out, but still, she doesn’t like your answer. This will force you to leave the store where you’ll have to make the choice all over again. You naturally have to pick Cece if you want to take part in the quest and unlock the worth-it rewards.

Choosing the undeclared option will start the quest Team Cece or Team Reede where you’ll have to speak to villagers to learn about each candidate. You’ll be able to convince villagers to vote against their better judgment so you can get a mushroom. After you have spoken to all eight villagers you will be rewarded a Big Hearty Truffle.
