Pokémon UNITE, much like any competitive online game, relies on a matchmaking rating (MMR) system to match players against one another. Winning and losing games affects whether you gain or lose a point in your class. Individual performance does not affect your MMR; it only matters if your team wins or loses. In this guide, we’ll show you all of the Pokémon UNITE rankings, including a complete list of ranks and how to check your own.
As we mentioned above, the only thing that affects your own matchmaking rating is whether you win or lose ranked games. Being the top-scoring player on a team may award you post-game medals, but it does not grant you bonus points or award you any extra MMR. For that reason, Pokémon UNITE relies heavily on teamwork and solid team composition. An ideal team will have attackers, supporters, defenders, healers, and maybe some all-around Pokémon.
Every player starts at beginner and must climb their way up the ranks. The first game is against bots, so it should be an easy victory for most people. After that, players will face others at their same rankings as they climb the ladder to Master.
Pokémon UNITE Ranks and Classes
The Pokémon UNITE ranks are as follows, from lowest to highest:
- Beginner: Class 1-3
- Great: Class 1-4
- Expert: Class 1-5
- Veteran: Class 1-5
- Ultra: Class 1-5
- Master
After obtaining a Master’s rank, there are no higher ranks to obtain. You will continue facing better players, though, as you win more games.
