Octopath Traveler harkened back to the golden age of JRPGs. Square Enix outdid themselves by bringing back an old style with a fresh concept. Octopath Traveler allows you to experience the story of 8 different individual characters. Each character has their own unique abilities and personality. With Octopath Traveler II you get 8 new characters to explore and fall in love with all over again. Each character also has its own set of chapters, but how many are there? How many chapters per character are in Octopath Traveler 2?
How many Chapters Per Character
In the first Octopath Traveler, you have 4 chapters for all 8 characters. Likewise, Octopath Traveler 2 also has 4 chapters per character. Clearly, Octopath Traveler’s formula was so well received, there’s no need to tweak too much a second time around. Just like the first game, you have a total of 32 chapters to explore and it is a bit necessary to complete all of them.

The first Octopath Traveler required you to complete all four chapters of every character to complete the game. Some stories culminated with such high-level bosses that playing every chapter helped you keep your levels high for more difficult battles. Completing all 32 chapters also unlocks an end-game dungeon. This is pretty much a boss-rush dungeon as well as a few other story-connected surprises.
You will likely end up with this approach in Octopath Traveler II as well. You can choose any character you’d like to start with of course. How you approach each chapter and story and what characters you use the most is entirely up to you. You have many unique characters to choose from, such as Osvald V. Vanstein the scholar, Agnea Bristarni the dancer, Ochette the hunter, Partitio Yellowil the merchant, Temenos Mistral the cleric, Castti Florenz the apothecary, Throné Anguis the thief, and Hikari Ku the warrior.
