Thankfully, the screen flickering issue had been a problem before and a concern with early-access gamers. So this is an issue that seems to have a surefire fix already. The issue seems to come from the framerate. This also seems to only be a PC issue considering every game PC is different and runs different games with separate functions.

Your first attempt at fixing the flickering issue is to go into your computer settings. Look for your 3D settings and click “Manage 3D settings”. Once this window opens, find where it says to turn on your Verticle Sync. That should be all there is to it.

Your VSync has to do with how many fps your monitor and computer can handle through your computer’s GPU. If you’re still having issues there is a chance your GPU needs to be updated or you need a more high-resolution monitor. If you are using an AMD GPU, then you will need to go into your AMD settings. Search for it through your computer and then click  “Wait for Vertical Refresh” and turn it on.

Run Modern Warfare 2 as Administrator

If the problem persists and your GPU is up to date, then there is one more method you can try. You can attempt to run Modern Warfare as an administrator. This usually fixes any glaring issues or properties as it runs the game at optimal performance.

Start by right-clicking on the Modern Warfare 2 icon. Select Properties and find the compatibility tab. Click the box titled “Run as an administrator” and then hit Apply.
