Minecraft’s Debug Stick Has Returned, Amongst Other Hidden Items in the 22w44a Snapshot

Items buried in code for years are finally revealing themselves.

Mojang has graced Minecraft with the 22w44a snapshot, which is huge news for long-time fans of the game. Technically, most of the features were always in the game, hidden in the ‘secret list’ of items only accessible through commands and cheats. Now, however, Mojang has made a space for them in the creative inventory. Introducing the Debug Stick, a classic Minecraft item now out in the open, amongst others. All of these items and improvements are exclusively helpful for a creative mode experience, and will not change your survival experience whatsoever, so you may be wondering why this is a big deal. Well, such a quality of life improvement that had been forgotten about the community for so long has finally been fixed, which promises more slight but significant improvements in the feature.

Additionally, having these blocks in creative reveals items that most players don’t know the existence of, and now their creative builds will elevated to higher levels, increasing the creativity that Minecraft aims to inspire. Items such as the Debug Stick, Barrier Block, Structure Void, and Light really enhances the abilities of the creative player, and will enhance map and world building for those who were kept in the dark about the secret items.

In our lead-up to the 1.20 update, and promises of more frequent updates with higher quality, this snapshot allows us to put a little more faith into the team after their many update controversies.
