Minecraft animals have been at the forefront of many players’ attention for years. People liked Pigs, Horses, Donkies, etc. for many reasons but one of the main ones is that they could be ridden around. Apparently, now it’s Sniffers’s turn.

Are You Able to Ride the Sniffers in Minecraft?
The answer is at the same time yes and no. The game hasn’t introduced an official mechanic that would allow you to ride Sniffers like other ridable animals that you can hop on and direct to go wherever you’d like them to go. However, there is a workaround that allows you to sneak to the Sniffer’s back.
Even though you can’t tame Sniffers, Minecraft introduced a /ride command that can nevertheless get you to ride them. All you have to do is approach this cute animal and run the following command:
- /ride (player name) mount @e[type=minecraft:sniffer,limit=1,distance=..10]
That will get you on the Sniffer’s back and you can ride him to wherever he’s headed. Riding a moving adult Sniffer can cut off your character a little bit while riding a standing adult one or a child moving one will show you a nice animation of your character sitting on their backs and enjoying the ride.
But, keep in mind that this little workaround for riding Sniffers is possible only in creative mode, and can’t be used in multiplayer.
How to Hatch a Sniffer?
Hatching a Sniffer is a piece of cake and involves a couple of easy steps. First of all, you need to dig out a Sniffer Egg from Suspicious Sand. Sniffer Egg then acts as a block and you can place it anywhere you’d like and wait for it to hatch. If you place it on Moss block you will double the speed of its hatching and you will have a newborn in 10 minutes.
Once your Sniffer Egg hatches, you will get a tiny little Snifflet that will turn into an adult in about 20 minutes. Sniffers are pretty helpful and you can use them to dig the ground for you and find Ancient seeds.
