The outside linebacker, or the off-ball linebacker, is incredibly important position in Madden NFL 22. Having one that’s quick and agile but weaker and undersized could result in running backs breaking away for bigger plays off the edge. However, with an outside linebacker that’s big and strong but slow and unathletic, they could struggle to keep up with some of the more agile receivers.
As a result, choosing the right outside linebacker to place on both sides of your formation is absolutely critical. Which is why we’ve created a Madden NFL 22 tier list ranking all of the best outside linebackers in the game.
