Lost Ark "Selected Region is Closed" - What Does it Mean?

Lost Ark “Selected Region is Closed” – What Does it Mean?

Lost Ark has officially launched in North America, Europe, and Latin America regions as of February 11. However, it was not the smoothest of deployments on launch day, despite the Head Start for Founder’s Pack owners running flawlessly for three days prior. Today, users are met with a Lost Ark “Selected Region is Closed” error upon logging in. Here’s what that means and why you are unable to connect to the servers.

What does “Selected Region is Closed” Mean in Lost Ark?

The “Unavailable Region – selection Region is closed, cannot connect to the server” error is a message that users may see upon logging into Lost Ark when the servers are down. Unfortunately, the Lost Ark team encountered deployment issues prior to rolling out the official launch of Lost Ark at noon on Friday, February 11, 2022. The issues caused them to delay deployment, and as such, the servers are all temporarily closed down for maintenance.

You might be wondering what this means for you. Well, unfortunately, it means that nobody can connect to the servers and play the game for the time being. Amazon Games and Smilegate are hard at work fixing the deployment issues so that users can continue exploring Arkesia and taking part in the hottest MMOARPG launch of the year.

The team knows how devastating this is for the community. Especially because of the huge number of players looking forward to playing over the weekend. That’s why as a form of compensation, three days of Crystalline Aura will be automatically added to all players who log in to the game between launch at 9 a.m. PT on February 13, 2022. It’s a small thank you for the players’ patience.

You can continue checking the official Lost Ark Twitter account for updates. We have no official estimate as to when the servers will be back up, but the official Twitter encourages users to stand by for updates in the meantime. The team has done a great job communicating with the player base the whole step of the way, and we’re optimistic it will remain that way considering the success of the Lost Ark Head Start thus far.
