I swear, I’ve thought more about mining iron ore in the last decade of gaming than in any time prior. Ever since Minecraft popularized, well, mining, every big game’s absolutely chock full of iron. It’s a weirdly consistent thing, but then again, iron is cool. You can make cool stuff with iron, and it’s absolutely everywhere, including in Lost Ark. Speaking of which, here’s how to get iron in Lost Ark.
Iron and other minerals can be harvested from ore veins scattered all over the world. There are even designated fields in major cities where you can mine ore veins all you like. When you find an ore vein, all you need to do is use your Mining Life Skill and pickaxe to smash it open, and with any luck, there’ll be some raw Iron Ore within.
How to Get Iron in Lost Ark
In order to unlock the ability to mine things, you’ll first need to complete the quest “Crown of Lakebar,” located in Luterra. It’s here that you’ll be educated on the concept of Life Skills, and be rewarded with your first pickaxe, named the Novice Mining Tool. You can get higher-quality mining tools from designated merchants, and you can also craft them yourself with the right recipe and materials.
As soon as you’ve got your Life Skill and pickaxe, you can get right to mining. Just be aware that using your Life Skill consumes Energy of Life, which you only get so much of on any given day. If you do too much mining in one day, you’ll consume all of your energy, and you’ll have to wait until tomorrow. That’s real life tomorrow, by the way, not in-game tomorrow.
Best Spot to Farm Iron in Lost Ark
One of the best spots to farm Iron Ore Veins in Lost Ark is at Meteora Island. The island is home to a fallen meteorite fragment. There are dozens of nodes to mine with no mobs to annoy you while you work. Open up your map and use the search functionality to map a route to Meteora.
