Will There Be Caves in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom?

Nothing sounds more enjoyable than spelunking around the cave systems of Hyrule, so it’s a good thing that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom will definitively have caves in it! And not only will this game have caves, but there will also be new enemies, puzzles, and treasure awaiting you inside of them! Going exploring inside the belly of underground Hyrule is exciting enough as it is, but knowing what’s hidden inside the depths of Hyrule’s cave systems makes it all the more thrilling.

We know that caves will definitely be in the game from analyzing both of the game’s official trailers. Not only are caves explicitly shown in multiple parts of the trailers, but cave exploration and cave-specific monsters are also shown multiple times.

Will The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom Still Have Shrines?

Speculation about the addition of caves to the franchise has created a lot of rumors within the fan community, specifically whether or not caves will be replacing shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Considering the number of shrines in the previous game, the very idea seems outlandish, but it may actually be more truthful than you’d think.

Despite all of the new official trailers and sneak peeks, there’s been no mention of shrines. Fans have spotted countless new and old features within the game’s trailers (including caves), but shrines have yet to make an appearance. This has caused many fans to wonder whether or not shrines will be in the game at all, or if caves will somehow end up replacing them altogether.
