How to Use Weapons Bay in Armored Core 6

For more precision shooting

With all FromSoftware games comes the inevitable confusion to learning whole this new video game universe works. As it took myself quite some time to learn the different RPG stats and what each means for Souls games, a change to a mechanical universe is one that will house even more problems. With every weapon sounding like one of the robots in TimeSplitters, with little to differentiate between each, it can get rather confusing which weapon does what and how to use each to create the perfect build that will annihilate every boss you face across the story’s missions. This is Vincent’s guide on how to use the Weapons Bay in Armored Core 6.

What is the Weapons Bay and How to Use it in Armored Core 6

The Weapons Bay acts as a mechanic for your AC to upgrade your shoulder weapons into extra handguns that you can equip as part of your build. The Bay is part of your Garage before heading into the next story mission. When choosing your loadout/equipment to take with you into the fight, you will want to go into Garage – AC Design – Assembly. From here, go to R-Back or L-Back located under the Units Options. Highlight either R-Back or L-Back and hit ‘Q’ or ‘E’ to open the Weapons Menu where you can place handgun weapons on top of your Shoulder Units. Be sure to refer to how much weight you are carrying however as you could end up rocking 4 weapons which will likely be unusable based on the total weight your AC is carrying into the mission.

The Weapons Bay offers a more versatile and unique pick of the bunch when it comes to using weapons for different ranges and circumstances. The handguns will replace the rocket launchers, but depending on the boss fight you know you are heading into, a more close-ranged build may be better for movability and hitting those critical shots whilst getting in close. Just make sure that if you go down the path of blades, shotguns and handguns, you utilize the boosts and dodge mechanic so that you can stray away from incoming fire but keep in close to punish the enemy once it reloads.

The Weapons Bay can be upgraded further with the use of OST Chips. These can be obtained through completing Arena Missions. These Chips can be used to upgrade the OS Tuning features, including the Weapons Bay alongside your boost, weapons and fine tuning such as aim and control.
