To get started with VCC you first need to download and install it from the official VRChat website. After installation, the Companion will check if Unity is installed, and if it’s not it will offer you to install it.

Tip: Choose the easy install if you want the version of Unity that is compatible with the current VRChat-SDK and the latest version of Unity Hub.

VCC is supported for Windows 10 only at this time. It might work on Windows 11 but its reliability hasn’t been tested yet.

Working on Your Projects

To get started on your project, go to the navigation bar, click “New” and then select the desired template. The templates offered are Avatar, World, and UdonSharp. You can always update any existing projects on which you have been working in the past or migrate some old ones to the new system.
