While trying to fight hordes in Survivor.io, you may have missed a overlooked a thing or two. Energy essence is one of them, as it could just sit there if you don’t know how to utilize it. You keep gathering more and more and finally come to a point where you feel like it might be important.
How to Use Energy Essence in Survivor.io
As you play through chapters or go on patrol, you will gain more and more essence. To check how much essence you have, you can go to your bag and check the “items” tab. You may have hundreds of essences available to you. Essence is used to upgrade your survivors, along with coins. The higher your level, the more essence you’ll need to level up.
In order to use energy essence, you’ll need to have at least one survivor. Once you do, go to the equipment tab and you’ll see a screen of your hero and their attached equipment. Directly under them is a large green button that says “Survivors/Outfits”. If it’s greyed out then you need to collect a survivor or outfit and it should unlock. Click on that tab and you’ll come to a screen with every hero you have at the moment.
Choose the survivor you want to examine and, once you do, you’ll see a screen of them alongside their stats and the ability to swap their outfit. In the bottom right corner, you’ll see a green “Level Up”. Above that you’ll see the requirements needed to level up the character. If either the energy essence or coins is red, you don’t have enough to upgrade.
