How to Unlock Program Omega in The Outlast Trials

An intense challenge awaits you

Calling all Reagents to unite for the Limited Time Event called the Omega Program. Acting as the first Special Event for The Outlast Trials, this Co-op Only Mode will put your teamwork to the absolute test. No longer can you hide away and cower whilst your friends go off and complete the hard tasks. No, this time, you will have to get into the mix yourself because if you don’t, your health will slowly deplete simply by playing solo. Red Barrels are channelling their own Murkoff Corporation through placing their playerbase in a literal experiment for the future of The Outlast Trials. What kind of results will you end up getting in these challenging times? This is Vincent’s guide on how to unlock the Program Omega in The Outlast Trials.

What is Program Ω?

The Omega Program marks the first Special Event held inside The Outlast Trials. It is exclusive to Co-op players, who go into the game with friends or randoms. Unlike the other Programs, Omega does not require you to complete in order to view the Ending and becoming one of the Reborn. It is something that you can choose to participate in, as part of a new, limited challenge that Red Barrels are running in Murkoff’s Facility. The Program is held within the same Maps that you are used to seeing – Police Station, Fun Park and Orphanage. But the conditions of the Program are different. Whilst you must complete the same Assignments such as Killing the Snitch or Punishing the Children, the environmental conditions/ variators are new and incredibly demanding.

In Program Omega, you are pretty much forced to work with your team and in close proximity. You may have previously dedicated players to act as bait, luring the enemies away whilst another stays, locking in an animation to complete an Assignment, this cannot be replicated inside the Omega Program. Your playstyle must change as you have to stay together, deal with the maximum number of enemies, traps, whilst having absolutely no way to heal. Omega is brutal and one that requires a lot of strategy, having no moments to breathe but many opportunities for panic.

This limited time Special Event will only last for a few weeks, until it vanishes forever. This Program acts as a tester for things to come. It is a test of your teamwork and wits under hyper-dangerous circumstances. Can you beat the Omega?

How to Unlock Program Omega in The Outlast Trials

Program Omega is unlocked at the exact time you unlock Program X. Meaning that if you already have Program X unlocked in your playthrough, you will have immediate access to Program Omega. For the new guinea pigs of The Outlast Trials, you will need to complete all Programs in the game – Police Station, Fun Park and Orphanage. This includes all Assignments and the Final Exam for each Program. Once these are completed, you should increase your Therapy Level to 20. Whilst this is not a requirement, it is recommended by Red Barrels for entry into the LTE. Your Therapy Level acts as the primary way of levelling up in the game. It is recorded by how well you do at completing Assignments where you are graded at the end of every Program.

Once you have completed all Programs and Final Exams, Program Omega and Program X will become available for you to play. The final requirement and it is a big one, is that Program Omega can only be played with other players. You need to have a team of 2-4 in order to play. With a challenge like this, it may be best to fill the squad as the Program conditions stop players from healing whilst sending in all enemies at once to chase you throughout.
