Can you and your team survive the vast, unforgiving and untouched universe? Explore space to its fullest, mine necessary resources, keep your workers happy and fed. Build an empire inside the Tiqqun and travel across the stars in hope for a better future for humanity. Starting with Sector 1, open more Sectors of the Tiqqun but keep your wits about you. Here is how to unlock a new IXION Sector on the Tiqqun Space Station.
When to Unlock a New Sector
With every IXION Sector that you unlock for the Tiqqun, you will receive a penalty in the Hull Integrity. The integrity of the Hull can be managed by EVA Airlocks, which can repair up to 48 units of Hull per cycle. Your Hull Integrity is the red bar at the top center of the screen. You want to keep the number on the left-hand side of the bar green at all times. Should the Hull need a repair, designate your EVA Airlocks that you will need to make to repair any damages in orbit. The Airlocks require Alloy to function and to begin reparations, you must enable ‘Hull Repair‘ via the Wrench and Hammer icon.
There may be irreparable damage to Hull Units, you can find this information under the Hull Integrity red bar. This will happen every time Vohle jump, and irreparable Hull Units will be added. Therefore, you must take note of how many alloys you have at all times in order to use EVA Airlocks to repair these Units. There are also crucial in unlocking another IXION Sector. Because Alloy is one of the most important materials in the game, you need to be strategic in where you use them and when to open a new Sector.
Sectors are under lock that requires a manual override in order to open. This requires resources and manpower to work within this new Sector. Your workers required for the Sector will be transferred over, so keep this in mind before you decide to open a new Sector on the Tiqqun.
How to Unlock Sectors in IXION
A new IXION Sector requires x80 Alloys, x1 Electronics, x16 Food, and x40 Workers. As previously mentioned, take note of your current resources (specifically Alloy) as opening a new Sector too soon will cause serious problems in your Hull Integrity. When you are ready to open a Sector, scroll to the right of your screen, and where you see the edge of the Sector you are currently in, this blacked-out section called the Gateway will glow orange. The same glow that you will see as you hover over all of your Sector Units.

When you are ready to open a new Sector, click on the edge of the screen for the Gateway when you have reached the far side. A pop-up window will appear showing you what you can build in your current opened Sector. To the right of this, you can open the new IXION Sector by selecting ‘Override Locks‘. Once this has been selected, there will be a display of the resources required to override for a new IXION Sector. Seen on the edge of the screen, on top of the Gateway. These resource numbers will rise as your Workers move into the Gateway.
Now with your new IXION Sector open, you can get to work. Adding the necessary Units you need to help you progress through the story. Repeat this process once again. When you have enough resources and feel it is the appropriate time to open the next Sector.
