How to Move and Rotate Buildings in IXION

A Space Station Building Adventure

As seen with the majority of city-building games, IXION is no different to the crafting of buildings. Be strategic in where you place the buildings inside each Sector within the Tiqqun. One of the most vital aspects of IXION is to always be aware of how many resources are available at one time within your Sectors. Be mindful of when you use these resources as they are crucial in building and progressing through the story. This is our guide on how to move and rotate buildings in IXION.

How to Move Buildings in IXION

In IXION, you cannot move a building freely after placing it down inside a Sector. What you can do however, is dismantle your chosen building which you wish to “move”. After dismantling, your resources that were originally used to place the building will return to you. Keep in mind that in order to complete the dismantling process you must have Stockpiles available to hold resources. This will not work if your Stockpiles are full. Therefore, before dismantling, make sure that you are using the resources in your Stockpile so that the resources after dismantling return to these. This is the same for buildings that require electronics to run. If you do not have a Electronics Stockpile available, then you cannot dismantle that building for the resources will have nowhere to go.

Inside the Building Mode via the Hammer and Wrench icon at the bottom bar of the screen, select the House icon with a red cross on it. Then hover over the building you wish to dismantle. Alternatively, you can select the building you wish to dismantle. On the building pop-up window, click the little House icon beside the larger building icon (above structure name) and click to dismantle.

How to Rotate Buildings in IXION

When placing down buildings in a Sector, you can only freely rotate the structure before you place it down. Once it is placed you cannot pick this up again. When selecting which building you are placing down, click on the icon with the Hammer and Wrench. This is found at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up the building tabs. You will see Maintenance, Space, Factories, Population and Food with different buildings available for you to place in the Sector. These cost different amounts of resources depending on what you are placing.

To rotate a building, this can only be done once you have selected what you wish to place down. By choosing where you want to place it in the Sector, click the mouse scroll wheel down. This will rotate the building 90 degrees. Keep in mind that if you hold the scroll wheel whilst moving the mouse, the entire screen will rotate. When you have it at the angle you want, click in the spot where you want to place the building. This will set it down where you cannot move it again.

When placing the building down you must have a road beside it. In order for your Workers to access the building. You will see green arrows signalling where your Workers can access the building from. Before you place it down within the Sector.
