What is the Camera Used for in Demonologist?

As of Demonologist v0.3.0, the Camera’s essential use is to take a Photo of the Ghost as evidence of their existence. This is one of the Optional Objectives that you must complete if you want to Exorcise the entity upon identifying their Entity Type. Regardless of whether you get this information right or not however, players are able to perform an Exorcism so long as they hit these Objectives. The three Objectives to hit are: the Ghost must blow out a Candle, find the Sitting Human Silhouette and take a Photo of the Ghost. These Objectives are exclusive to the Abandoned House Map in Demonologist. Because of these Objectives, players need to bring with them a Candle, Ecto Glass and Camera to successfully hit these tasks in order to get the Exorcism Objective out of finding the Fingers for the Ritual.

The Camera is the only Tool you can use to obtain a Solid Photo of the Ghost. When attempting to get a Photo however, you will need to get the entity in a full-body shot and in a moment where the entity is either coming towards you or passing through the room.

How to Take a Photo of the Ghost

In order to get that Solid Photo of the Ghost, players need to head back to the Entity Room. As this is the room with the most paranormal activity, be sure to have your Camera out at all times. Similar to how you would use the Spirit Box, take aloud using your Mic to the entity using commands such as ‘where are you’, ‘are you here’ or ‘show yourself’. If you know the Ghost’s name, this can help you too. Regardless of the Entity Type, you will hear an obvious audio cue of the entity making its appearance via a witches cackle. The entity will appear at this time in close proximity to yourself.

To use the Camera, all you need to do is interact via the left-click button on your mouse. The Camera is never pulled up to your face, unlike the Ecto Glass, but when in use, you can repeatedly click to get that important full-body Ghost shot. The entity will make themselves known for this Objective, all you need to do is stand in the Entity Room upon getting the Ghost to blow out the Candle and try to communicate with the entity for it to show itself. Once the entity appears near you, click to use the Camera whilst faced at the Ghost. You know when you have successfully got the Solid Photo by another audio cue.

We recommend that players seek the Sitting Human Silhouette out first, then get the Ghost to blow out the Candle and finally taking that Solid Photo. After this point, the Fingers will spawn in and you can gather them for the Ritual to Exorcise the entity for good.
