Performing an exorcism can be tough, especially getting to the rewarding process of banishing that evil spirit. But in Demonologist, practise truly does make perfect. Within the first Map in the latest Ghost Hunting Horror Game, Demonologist, players will be able to exorcise the spirit upon identifying its typing through using their archaic, but useful Tools. Whilst you will grow accustomed to the identification process in this game, players need to quickly adjust to what is their priority Tools to take with them into a match for money is limited. Even getting started, you will need to successfully guess the correct entity type through many rounds before earning enough money to take on an exorcism. For those trying to complete one however, this guide will show you how to get the Ghost to blow out the Candle in Demonologist.
The Purpose of Candles in Demonologist
In Demonologist, Candles are one of the most crucial safety items you can use in the game. Unlike Flashlights, these act as a way to keep your sanity high, which is incredibly important in Demonologist, just like in Phasmophobia. You will need this at its highest and although you could regularly return to HQ to conserve your sanity, it will not do much in the long run for those looking to exorcise. Instead, items such as Sanity Pills and Candles should be brought in to conserve your sanity as much as possible, especially if it is taking a longer time to find evidence in the identity of the entity.
The other main purpose of the Candles is for one of the Optional Objectives used after you have guessed the entity type. These Objectives will become unlocked and will remain the same regardless of the match you enter if you are on the Abandoned House Map.

How to Get the Ghost to Blow out the Candle for the Exorcism
As this is one of the Optional Objectives in the Abandoned House, players will need to get used to bringing Candles with them into their match. These not only help you keep your sanity in check as highlighted above, but are also crucial to knocking one of those Objectives out of the park. For this Objective, you need to find a good place for the Candle to sit inside the Abandoned House. The primary focus should be a spot filled with paranormal activity, either the Entity Room itself or via the use of the EMF Reader and Spirit Box to determine where the source of the haunting is coming from.
Where to Place the Candle
You need to place the Candle down in the room with the highest level of paranormal activity, you should know where this is by now as you will have been in this room the most to conduct your evidence gathering. All you need to do is interact with the floor to place it down, look for the green placement icon so you know where it can and cannot be placed. You do not need to say anything to get the Ghost to blow the Candle out and you can walk to another room to conserve your sanity so that you are not 1. standing in the dark for too long or 2. staying in the room of the hauntings. You will hear the audio cue of the Candle being blown out. This will happen randomly and the only way to increase the time in which the Candle gets blown out is by placing it in a great spot.
Keep in mind that the Ghost cannot blow out the Candle when the item is in your hand, you must place it down on the floor. If you have other Tools out from previous use such as the ESG Device or Easel Canvas, place the Candle with these as you saw activity here before.
