The Gas in Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most annoying things that the game has to offer. Even if it keeps the game interesting, it has been the cause of death in the game way too early. Although some players magically seem to survive the gas, there are two main ways they always end up not dying. Here’s how to survive the gas in Call of Duty Warzone.

How to survive the gas in Call of Duty Warzone

The gas damages your character’s health and armor. This feature is mandatory for balancing the auto-heal. When it comes to surviving, it helps to understand how much damage gas does in Warzone and how it works.

Gas damage is always the same, whether you have armor or not. It does not matter how far away you are from the safe zone. The gas damage also does not change during different stages of the game, though some players believe otherwise.

Warzone gas always kills within 12-seconds without additional item usage. A gas mask adds 12-seconds, and stims can add another 12-seconds if applied at the optimal time. You can also use a self-revive and stim, plus a stim from the ammo box. Here’s a breakdown of the longest you can survive in the gas for Warzone:

  • Normal: 12s
  • Gas Mask: +12s
  • Stim: +12s (2s to apply)
  • Self Revive + Stim: +12s (7s to apply)
  • Stim from Ammo Box: +24s
  • Maximum survival time: 1:28

Breaking it down, you can survive for a maximum of one minute and twenty-eight seconds in the gas if your timing is perfect. Aside from that, here are three things to keep in mind when it comes to surviving the gas in Call of Duty Warzone.

Preparing in advance

The gas is not something you can shoot at to kill as an enemy. It is something that you can only outrun. At best, you can put on a gas mask and hope for the best. However, advanced players are always aware of their surroundings. They always know when the gas is coming, or if it is still farther out.

By knowing how far the gas is away from approaching you, you already have a significant tactical advantage. Most of the time, it’s easy to get carried away with looting rather than leaving for safety. Always prepare in advance by looking at the ticking clock.

Gas Masks and Vehicles

Even by preparing in advance, sometimes getting stuck in a gunfight is inevitable. The end game will result in death from the gas, the enemy team, or both. However, within the last circles, always know that gunfights will be more frequent since there are many people in a tighter area.

So, always mark the nearest vehicle and have a gas mask on hand. Instead of scrambling where to find a buy station to get a mask or finding the vehicle for your team, always mark the ones closest to you once the circles get smaller and smaller.

Avoiding Gunfights

Avoiding gunfights is probably the best thing you can do for yourself when trying to escape the gas. Not only will it slow you down, but it can damage you and your team and open up room for mistakes.

After winning a gunfight, a lot of players use a vehicle to escape. Due to the heightened situation, it’s easy to hit a roadblock and be unable to maneuver out. Avoiding something like a gunfight helps reduce in-game mistakes.

As much as you possibly can, when the time is ticking for the gas, avoid any opposing team even if you both notice each other’s presence. In almost all situations, being too confident in an encounter results in regret. Now that you know how to survive the gas in Warzone, it’s time to get that BR victory.
