There are no escaping puzzles in the wizarding world of Hogwarts Legacy. However, this puzzle is relatively easy to solve by those who know how to play Chess or at least know the rules of the game. As you know, winning a game of Chess requires you to get a checkmate; that is exactly what you’ll need to do in this Hogwarts Legacy puzzle; however, that may be hard to do if you’re missing a piece. So, to help you out, follow this guide on how to solve the Chess Puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy – How to solve the Chess Puzzle
You can find the Chess Puzzle in the Poidsear Coast region in Hogwarts Legacy. The Chess Puzzle is located within the Treasure Vault east of the Phoenix Mountain Cave. As you can expect, one can not enter a Treasure Vault without solving a puzzle at the entrance. In front of the Vault, you will find two gold totems, and to enter, ensure that you have the Depulso spell equipped; you must spin the totems a few times to unseal the Vault.
Now that you have made your way inside the Vault, you need these four spells: Transformation, Accio, Revelio, and Wingardium Leviosa. Inside the Vault, you will find an incomplete Chess Puzzle, and using the Transformation spell, you will turn a Chair or Pot into a Chess piece; this puzzle can be done three times, and each time you will either get a chair or one of two pots to transform.

Once you have found your Chess piece using Revelio, you must place it into a checkmate position on the Chess Board. This will be within the first three blocks of the board near the stairs. Then, you can move your Chess Piece using Wingardium Leviosa or Accio to the right spot; if you’re unsure which spot is checkmate, you can hover the chess piece to find the right spot.
