How to Solve the Security Relay Puzzle

At first glance, this puzzle may seem a bit confusing. The tutorial does a very good job of throwing a lot of information out there to overcomplicate the solution. The main goal for all the laser puzzles in Atomic Heart is to match the red and blue laser beams with the red and blue dots at the end of the puzzle on the left-hand side. So if you see the circles on the left as Blue Red Blue, you need to make sure the lasers on the right are also Blue Red Blue. Now, this may sound easy!

To move, the surrounding colors want to interact with the six disks in the center. Moving them around in a circle, which will change the positions of the lasers. Sometimes these disks will have a node that will split the laser and redirect it to a different spot, sometimes they don’t. It just depends on which section you’re on.

When the lasers begin to fork and move to different spots of on the relay, you will need to be aware of how the colors work. In the one tutorial, the game shows you there’s a chart in the bottom right side of the image that shows + : + : +, + : – : -, – : – : +. What the game is trying to describe to you is if you have two reds combined it will make a red, if you have a blue and a red combined it makes a blue and if you have two blues combined you get a red. Don’t ask me how it works exactly.

Once you do two of these puzzles, you’ll have a good handle on what the game is expecting of you. Hopefully this guide was able to describe it a bit more in-depth and has helped in the long run!
