All Enemies and Bosses in Atomic Heart

This is a list of all of the bosses and enemies in Atomic Heart.

Imagine with me a world where Russia won World War 2 and shortly after took immense steps to progressing science. Decades have passed and with that comes years of machines, automatons, and mutants that have been discarded or recently set free to kill at their own discretion.

The set-up creates an amazing story hook for players because the probabilities to meet something that can kill in a heart beat is insanely high, more so now than ever. These crispy critters and robots can reduce the player to nothing but pulp like it’s nothing. Thankfully, we have a list of all the enemies and bosses in Atomic Heart to get you ready for the horrors within.

All Enemies and Bosses in Atomic Heart

Simply put the basic enemies in Atomic Heart boil down to types: robots and mutants. There’s another type we will get into for the bosses. Each of these enemy types have their own weaknesses and strengths which we will get into below.

Robots

All of these robots have the same weakness, electricity. There are going to be flying enemies such as the Pchela, Hornet and Owl whom you will need to shoot down with your electricity as soon as possible. Keep your eyes open for when Pchela and Owl shoot missiles, dodging them will be an easy task! When Hornet is close to the Pchela it will heal them so make sure to shoot the Hornet down asap with an electric bolt.

Then there are a handful of ground units such as the Laborer, Lab Tech and Vatrushka. The Laborer will try to cut you up with his chainsaw, a nifty dodge and melee attack will do him in. The Lab Tech’s will try and karate you to death and drop kick you from the top rope, avoid everything the Lab Tech’s throw at you. If you get hit you’ll end up rolling backwards and will be stunned. Vatrushka’s will hide and spew fire at you from their turret, these we can easily dispatch with our melee weapons and electricity.

Mutants

These Mutants are human bodies that have been taken over by Sprouts. Sprouts are flying leaves that will sometimes shoot poison at you but most of the time you can find them attached to the brains of a human. These are easy to take care of as well with your trusty melee weapon and your ice powers. Mutants will make sure to jump at you from across the room so using ice or electricity on them midair will do the trick!

The Bosses

Images provided by MUNDFISH

The boss design is truly where Atomic Heart shines. They represent the best the game has to offer visually. The unfortunate side of this is the bosses typically all behave the same during a fight and all of them are just going to be shoot-outs gameplay wise. They’re fun spectacles either way!

VDV LAB TECH

This is just the Lab Tech but he’s a bit stronger now. He is the first boss you encounter in the game, and he’s the tutorial that teaches you how to dodge and avoid powerful enemy hits. Make sure to dodge his laser beam and run in for as many hits as you can get with your melee weapon. Once he’s out of Laser Beam mode we want to return to our shotgun if we have any ammo left.

Large Mutant

This guy has you trapped in a small hallway surrounded by a couple of smaller Mutants during the train puzzle section of the game. The key to winning this fight is staying aware of where the flying Mutants are, they will be spawning out of the walls and will pick at you from afar. Take these guys down and chip away at the big daddy Mutant as much as you can. Try and conserve pistol and shotgun ammo for the flying Mutants and use your melee weapon to kill the ground ones including the Large Mutant.

Hedgie

Images provided by MUNDFISH

Hedgie is the first boss you encounter after leaving the Russian Labs on your way to the Exhibition. They’re a bot designed to terraform and also mow lawns sometimes. What it excels at is moving quickly and confusing you then dropping down and creating waves that you need to jump over. After Hedgie shoots its waves out it will roll directly towards you. To combat this we want to hide behind one of the many pillars in the area. When Hedgie seeks you out, they hit the pillar, and then they’re laying on their side weak points exposed. Shoot these red dots and repeat the cycle a few more times and you’ll be rolling away in no time.

Plyusch

Images provided by MUNDFISH

Plyusch looks creepy and once you’re seen by it you’ll be even more afraid. This enemy has the brain of a dog attached to a mass of artificial human limbs. It behaves like it as well, also stretches some too! You’ll see. When you’re on your way to locate Claire’s arm it’s going to be a long dungeon crawl and your resources will be sparse so most likely against the Plyusch you’ll need to melee him. He will run at you and jump, extending his long arms to try and pull itself closer to you. Dodge around every attack and go in for a hit when you can. Once your energy is recharged whip out the Dominator and blast him with the big electricity ball.

Belyash

Images provided by MUNDFISH

Before making it into the Theater you will encounter Belyash. He used to be a plumber and a welder but now he’s a killing machine with a flamethrower. He’ll jump at you and throw projectiles while homing in. Dodge all of his attempts and eventually he will get mad and set the grass on fire and limit your mobility. Just stay aware and dance with the guy shooting him with everything you got! Don’t try and melee.

Natasha

The fat lady sings, literally. Natasha is the Theater boss. On the stage she approaches and begins to volley missiles at you while also lumbering towards you hoping to squash you flat. She is very easy to avoid physically, but her missiles are quite fast so watch out for those. When she runs at you, dodge behind her and shoot her with your Fat Boy if you have any ammo. If not any type of gun will do here. She’s probably the easiest fight in the game.

Dewdrop

Images provided by MUNDFISH

Before you reach the Lighthouse you will encounter Dewdrop. Despite the cute name he’s rather the opposite. You remember the material that made up Plyusch? Yeah, he’s now inside a mech suit. This suit allows the entity to bounce around and move just as quickly as the Hedgie did. Once you chip away at the armor on Dewdrop the red tentacles will come out and start swinging at you wildly. The dance here is going to be dodging and hiding behind the dead whale on the beach with you. Shoot him up with the Fat Boy and Dominator as much as you can.

Ballerina Twins Left and Right

Images provided by MUNDFISH

The Twins Left and Right are going to be fought in two phases. Once when you enter the tower and once at the top. The Twins are going to be nimble, just as the ballerina aesthetic implies. They are also very brutal though and will take away all of your health in no more than two hits. The Twins are the ultimate life form so they’re a combination of all the bosses we fought before. Lasers, quick speed, brutal attacks, waves to dodge and there’s also another surprise in there I won’t spoil! But at least at first you only have to fight one of them.

But then you have to fight both of them. Once you get to the final phase with them on the top floor, use your psychic power to lift them up and slam them on the ground whenever you get the chance. This will damage them heavily but also knock them out of any animations they may be in the middle of. All of their attacks here will lead to certain death since they do team attacks against you. But if you can stop one of them in their tracks with any of your strongest guns you will be victorious.

We hope that this list of Enemies and Bosses in Atomic Heart has helped prepare you for your time with the game!
