Atomic Heart is here and its amazing horror-filled action is taking many gamers from their everyday routines to try out this Soviet dystopian world. Besides the regular shooting and fight strategizing, you will need to solve some puzzles in this game as well.
One puzzle that seems to trouble many players is the Magnet puzzle from the “A Glass, Darkly” mission. Dive into our article and find out how you can quickly overcome this puzzle. Here’s how to complete the “A Glass, Darkly” Quest.
How to Complete “A Glass, Darkly” Quest
How Do the Magnets Work in Atomic Heart?
The mobile electromagnetic clusters will have markings on top of them, indicating if they are positively or negatively magnetized. This can help you figure out which clusters will raise at what point since negative magnets on the ceiling will push away negatively magnetized clusters on the ground (same with positive-positive relationship). The opposites will attract, meaning negatively magnetized clusters will raise when you have positive magnets on the ceiling.

How to Solve Magnet Puzzles in Atomic Heart
Soon after starting the “A Glass, Darkly” quest you will find yourself in a small room with magnets on its ceiling. The game gives you a message explaining how you can use your Shok ability to trigger them and switch their poles from positive to negative (whichever suits you better at the time). Shok the magnets in the small room to switch them from positive to negative and mobile electromagnetic clusters (platforms) will appear, enabling you to climb and go to the next floor.
The First Room
Once you reach the new floor you will see in front of you a huge room with mobile electromagnetic clusters and the ceiling again covered in magnets. Use your EMP (Shok) ability to switch them from positive to negative, and jump forward on the platform that presented itself in front of you and immediately after land on the one on a lower level. Now shock the magnets again and take them back from negative to positive and climb the new cluster in front of you. From that cluster, you will be able to jump directly to the entrance of the next room.
The Second Room
After moving forward you will have to kill two enemies, unlock the door and resolve a common laser puzzle. When this is complete you will find yourself again in a big room with moving ceiling magnets and moving floor clusters. Now to finish this part as quickly as possible follow our step-by-step guide:
- Jump onto the blue, same-level, cluster to your right.
- Jump down to a lower-level red cluster.
- Use Shok to set the ceiling magnets to negative and jump down to a low-level blue cluster.
- Use Shok again to reverse ceiling magnets back to positive.
- You will be raised to a level where you will have to resolve another laser puzzle.
- Upon resolving the laser puzzle jump to a low-level red cluster and electrify the ceiling magnets to again go to negative.
- Jump onto a mid-level blue cluster, trapped between two other highly raised clusters.
- Cast Shok the ceiling magnets again, jump to a mid-level red platform in front of you, and jump onto the exiting platform with a doorway.
The Third Room
Once you go into the third room, immediately go to the blue cluster in front of you. Look to your right and switch the ceiling magnets there to negative and jump to a mid-level blue platform. This room will have smaller groups of magnets that you can separately control so switching one group to positive/negative won’t affect other magnets.
Revert the magnets above you to positive and proceed to jump on a narrow part of a cluster in front of you. Jump on the unmoving platform with a dead body on it, look up and you will see a platform connected to a big moving cluster. Zap the magnets to again set them to negative, and jump onto the mentioned platform that is now in your reach (it will be a blue-colored platform).
Make your way to another non-moving platform connected to the wall and from it jump down to a blue cluster. Use Shok on the group of magnets directly above you (not the group in front of you!) and set them to positive. This will allow you to move forward on another blue cluster from which you can proceed to a lower-level red platform. From it, jump onto a platform leading to a doorway.
The Fourth Room
Before entering the next room you will once again have to solve a laser puzzle in order to go forward. Once you reach this room go down and reach the ground level. While on it, look for something that looks like a high fence, and zap the magnets above to make them negative and the cluster next to that fence will lower down. Stand on it and revert the magnets back to positive.
Move on to the unmovable platform you see with a dead robot on it and set the magnets once again to negative. A blue platform will be in front of you and you will need to jump to reach it. Once on it, change the ceiling magnets back to positive, and now comes the tricky part – you will need to jump down on a narrow platform that looks like a wall.
Once you are standing on that wall, jump down on the other side and stand on a red platform. Change the magnets above you from positive to negative, jump down on a blue platform next to you, and switch the magnets on the ceiling back to negative. You will now find yourself in front of an open door that leads to the end of the “A Glass, Darkly” quest.
