How to Revive With Dog in Remnant 2

This is what best friends are made for

As soon as there is a character available in a game with a post-apocalyptic setting with a canine companion, I am sold. Dogs in video games hold a special place in gamers hearts, from rescuing the bear-trapped wolf or saving a puppy by unlocking its cage to petting these loyal friends. Whatever the reason and regardless of the game’s genre, the inclusion of dogs can make a ton of difference. Whilst Remnant 2 in no way needs the inclusion of the loyal friend, it is in fact an option to walk around with your very own Riley whilst channelling the final survival of humanity in a new variation of I Am Legend. But this unique Class in Remnant 2, titled Handler, has a unique function, similar to that of the Medic. Instead of bringing a set of defibrillators to the fight however, you have your dog to impact the game in a positive way. This is Vincent’s guide on how to revive your friends in Remnant 2 with the Handler’s dog.

How to Revive With the Handler’s Dog in Remnant 2

The Handler is one of the 4 base Classes (or Archetypes) in Remnant 2. Although as a set, the Archetypes do not match each other aesthetically, almost belonging in completely separate games to one another, each Archetype provides a unique set of skills and a different gameplay experience for every pick. Depending on how you want to play; such as a medic with faster revives time or a combative fighter with varying ranges available to utilize, your initial decision can be altered by getting a secondary Archetype in the game. But regardless of your pick, the Handler is either available upon completing the Tutorial or its Engram can be found in Ward 13.

With the Handler Archetype, players have their incredibly useful kit to use, including a lot of bonuses through the use of their canine companion. With increased movement and revival speed, and being able to control their dog to the extent of telling them what to do and when (as a guard, support or attack dog; check the dog’s bandana color for each type you have assigned), the Handler’s dog offers a lot to the table and not just added cuteness to the bleakness of Remnant’s atmosphere. But for those who are playing with friends or as a solo, the dog can actually provide medical assistance. This works in a very specific way which we will outline below.

  • The dog can revive you so long as your companion has a minimum of 50% health remaining.
  • You can utilize a ping system to command the dog to revive any teammates that get downed (not full death). x1 Dragon Heart per revive is required.
  • Increased 30% revival speed for both Handler Archetype and the dog.
  • 25% less damage is taken during the revival period for both the Handler and the dog.
  • x1 Relic can restore the dog’s health fully, alongside a temporary increase of 25% damage resistance (lasting a total of 15 secs)

As the Handler Archetype acts more like a Support Class, players should switch dog mode throughout boss fights so that you can utilize the Support Dog Mode which heals yourself and allies mid-fight. The Handler Archetype is incredibly helpful to solo players due to the ability to revive using your trusty companion who unlike other players, will not run away when the going gets tough.
