It goes without saying that spiders are a source of anxiety for a great many people. It also goes without saying that if the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has plenty of anything, it’s spiders. I mean, there’s a whole subplot in the second book/movie featuring a gigantic spider. It would make complete and total sense if the magical world’s relation with these creepy crawlies awakened arachnophobia in some fans.

But — what if I told you there was a mod for the recently released Hogwarts Legacy that would … defang the spiders? Before you ask, no, the spiders won’t cease to exist. But, the textures and models of these creatures will be swapped with a generic box. So, it might not be the ideal solution, but if you simply can’t stand the sight of spiders, something’s better than nothing. How to Install Arachnophobia Mod for Hogwarts Legacy

If you’re familiar with the process of installing mods, there’s a chance this will be obvious to you. If not, then buckle up and follow these steps to install the Arachnophobia mod in Hogwarts Legacy, developed by NorskPL.

To start, navigate to NexusMods and create an account if you don’t have one already. As soon as you’ve finished creating your account, head to the mod page and download the folder. In order to use the file, you’ll need a method of unpacking the contents, but once you’ve done so, the magic can truly begin.

Find the Hogwarts Legacy installation folder. This can be easily done by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library, clicking Preferences, Local Files, and finally, Browse. Inside the Remove Spiders folder, you should see a folder called ‘Phoenix.’ Take this folder, copy it, and paste it into the installation folder. As soon as this is done, the game should automatically replace spiders with generic boxes.
