How to Increase Stamina in Tchia

Nothing builds character like running a mile barefoot.

I’m not entirely sure what exactly determines a human being’s wellspring of stamina. Probably something to do with blood flow or something, I dunno. What I do know is that having more stamina is helpful when you’re on an island-hopping adventure, so let’s get some more of it! Here’s how to increase stamina in Tchia.

How to Increase Stamina in Tchia

In Tchia, your stamina is represented by the green lightning bolt meter that appears whenever you do something strenuous. This includes gliding and swimming underwater, but it also drains when you take damage. Your stamina is pulling double duty as both the obvious job and your health; if it drains out completely and you keep exerting yourself, you’ll pass out and respawn at the last campfire or dock you interacted with.

You start the game with a mere 20 points of stamina, and it drains very quickly, which can make high-altitude or deep-sea navigation more difficult. However, there is a way to increase your stamina capacity: fresh fruit!

Finding Stamina Fruit

Scattered around the archipelago are wild Stamina Fruits. If you eat one, your stamina meter will increase by one point. Individual fruits aren’t that helpful, but the good news is that there are usually at least a few of them around any given location. You can mark nearby Stamina Fruit on your map either by directly passing it or by shouting from atop a Point of View.

Besides regular Stamina Fruit, there are also Big Stamina Fruit that increases your meter by a whopping 3 points instead of the usual 1. These fruits can’t be found in the wild; you can only find them as rewards for completing certain sidequests. For instance, if you pursue the treasure map quest given to you buy Gabby in Weliwele, several of the chests you find will contain a Big Stamina Fruit. You can also get Big Stamina Fruits from burning the cloth piles in the larger Maano Camps.

Whether you want to glide from the tallest mountain, explore the depths of the sea, or just not get knocked the heck out, you’ll want all the Stamina Fruit you can find to build up that stamina.
