When you are conquering the Ragnarok Origin world you don’t have to do it alone. Even if your friends aren’t playing, the game offers many solutions for you to team up with other characters and complete adventures and quests before you with a team instead of doing it solo.
Mercenaries are one part of that story. They offer huge help to solo players as they can assist in farming, grinding, and completing time-sensitive quests. Read on to find out how you can hire mercenaries and other important details about them in Ragnarok Origin.

Hiring Mercenaries in Ragnarok Origin
Just like Homunculus, you will be able to control, upgrade, support, and be in party with your mercenary. There are 6 mercenaries in total and you will unlock them when you reach certain levels. Mercenaries have their classes as your characters do and they can fulfill roles you’re missing in your party. For example, if you are a ranged DPS you would like to have a tank mercenary. If you are a tank you would like to have a ranged DPS or a Mage mercenary supporting you with with damage from afar, etc.
This is the full list of mercenaries in Ragnarok Origin, their roles, and when you can recruit them:
- Sanji – Archer (ranged DPS) class Mercenary unlocked at level 20.
- Raygene – Swordsman (tank) class Mercenary unlocked at level 28.
- Lililiah – Acolyte (healer) class Mercenary unlocked at level 28.
- Ayumi – Mage (DPS) class Mercenary unlocked at level 42.
- Juno – Thief (single target DPS) class Mercenary unlocked at level 42.
- Natalie – Merchant (magical DPS) Class Mercenary unlocked at level 42.
Why Get Mercenaries Anyway?
You will have limited slots for mercenaries throughout the game, even later on when you unlock multiple choices. Mercenaries are the best for killing bosses, AFK farming, and in general farming XP faster. However, our advice is not to keep more than three active mercenaries with you as they can eat through your budget quickly. You will be spending your resources on their gear, tributes, and levels and that’s much easier to do when you have a smaller number of them that you can focus on.
Keep in mind that you can’t take your mercenaries on quests that are putting you in a 1v1 situation against someone or in group dungeons (that’s only for parties with friends).
