How to Hack ATM in Thief Simulator 2?

Putting the lottery numbers directly into your hands.

Winning the lottery is a dream for many people. For those who take part in Post Code lotteries or have an almost religious routine of scratching off lottery tickets and never winning a dime, this one is for you. Whilst these skills are not directly transferrable into real life, you never know when something like this may come in handy. As someone who worked in retail, I saw my fair share of desperation to make a quick buck. From taking clothes out of the store with the hanger intact, taking an entire basket of stock and leaving with the most important item there is – the basket itself, or literally ripping out the tag from the clothes, making it virtually impossible to sell on, people will do absolutely anything for some free money.

In Thief Simulator 2, players are given the opportunity to sneakily steal some money from the ATMs scattered around the neighborhood. Whilst this task seems like an impossible one to do in broad daylight, the ATMs in Thief Simulator aren’t ones heavily guarded. If you are a little more morally correct than others, stealing from an ATM may be a good middle ground for crimes committed in this stealth game. Therefore, this is Vincent’s quick guide on how to hack ATMs in Thief Simulator 2.

How to Steal from an ATM in Thief Simulator 2

Looking to make a quick buck from the inviting ATMs scattered throughout Thief Simulator 2? All you will need is the ATM Hacking Tool which can be purchased from StealGear (costs $1,000).

The Hacking Tool is important to stealing from the ATM as you are given 5 attempts to successfully hack into the system. The Tool offers you 2 correct numbers out of the 5-digit sequence. It is then up to you to correctly guess the final 3 digits. Even if you get the sequence wrong and have to try another attempt, any correctly input digits will remain on the screen in green and be locked into the sequence.

The problem with hacking these ATMs is the fact that they are guarded. The area often has NPCs walking past, police patrols, and security cameras in place to stop fiends like yourself. Firstly, you must ensure you are using the camera’s blind spot. You can ‘See Habits‘ of the camera, which will outline areas in red that the camera can clearly see you on.

Make sure you look for the area that is darkened (not red), as this is the camera feed’s blind spot. After you have checked for the blind spot, survey the area in close proximity to the ATM. Are there people around? Is the police nearby? If you are in the clearing, return to the ATM and begin the hack inside the blind spot area.

Finally, refer to the bottom-left corner of the ATM Hacking Screen, as you will see the Alarm Timer counting down. You have 120s to guess the correct sequence with your 5 attempts.
