Chapter 2 of The Chant is where things really start to heat up as the layers of the mysterious island retreat begin to peel back, revealing its more insidious side. And if you’re like me, then you may be struggling to figure out where the Heart Key is and how you can find it. Luckily for you, we know how to get the Heart Key in The Chant and can explain how you can too!
How to Get the Heart Key in The Chant
Once you’ve made it to the first safe room following watching Sonny cross the ravine, exit the other side of the room and you’ll find a building next to the cabin with a Heart-shaped Padlock keeping it closed. You’ll need to find that Heart Key in order to open it.
Follow the Gloom around the fence and you’ll find two rock formations you can pass through, leading out of the Gloom. Once you get out, head to your immediate right and down the pathway to another cabin covered in Gloom.
Make your way through the Gloom and enter the building by jumping off of the ledge and killing the two attacking cultists. The door to go inside is near where they ambush you. Once inside, pick up the envelope with the picture of the Lock and Key stuck to it.

Next, enter the other room of the building. You’ll find a door with a 2×4 keeping it shut. Take that off and head through it outside. You’ll enter a new Gloom where you’ll come toe to toe with not only another Mandaleech to take down but a new enemy, the Mimicrawler.
Kill the Mimicrawler using the Sage Stick. This enemy is fast and the Mandaleech’s Mind Attacks won’t make the fight any easier. Once they’re both dead, you’ll be able to pick up the Heart Key from a skeleton that’s located where the Mandaleech was before it was killed.
Once you have that key, return to the door near the safe room with the Heart Padlock on it in order to unlock it so that you can get another piece of the Hexahedron Key. Be wary though, as an enemy that resembles the voice of Jess’ sister will follow you there. Kill it with a few swings of your Sage Stick.
