Destiny 2’s Christmas event, the Dawning, is back again. Just like last year, Guardians of the Tower are tasked with sourcing, baking, and delivering holiday treats to all of our pals throughout the system.
We don’t get to just slap some flour and egg in a bowl and call it a day, though. No, our buddies all have… peculiar tastes. Our ingredients are going to come from killing various enemies throughout Sol. We’re harvesting their bodies for the likes of Cabal Oil and Vex Milk (which is literally sentient Vex), to bake into cookies and cakes. Is it weird? Yes, but the things we’ll do for loot…
Out of all the ingredients we’re after, Null Taste is one of the rarest. It belongs to a group of ingredients that are directly tied to what element you’re using, all of which have a very low drop chance. So, I’m here to tell you how you can effectively get Null Taste in Destiny 2.
How to Obtain Null Taste in Destiny 2
To get Null Taste in Destiny 2, you need to defeat opponents with Void damage. That’s it. That damage can be anything from your super and grenades to using a Void elemental weapon.
The rate at which you get Null Taste is quite low, though. I was averaging around one per Lost Sector while using a Void subclass with a Void weapon.
Rather than specifically grinding for Null Taste, you would be better served putting on your Void class and weapons, then ignoring it while you do other activities. As you kill enemies, you’ll end up with a decent amount of it without even noticing.
How to farm Null Taste in Destiny 2
If you’re desperate, though, you could always farm for Null Taste. There are three spots that will allow you to get a decent amount of Null Taste in a short amount of time:
- The start of the new Grasp of Avarice Dungeon.
- Shuro Chi in the Last Wish Raid.
- The Thrallway in the Shattered Throne Dungeon.
All three of these encounters throw enemies at you in massive numbers, meaning your kills per minute is far higher than it is elsewhere. So, if you ABSOLUTELY NEED some Null Taste, throw on some Void gear and head into one of these.
Otherwise, just do what you were going to do anyway, albeit making sure you’re using Void weapons. The Dawning will be here for at least two weeks, so don’t feel too pressured to finish everything right away.
