Severed heads make great decorations!

Some of the coolest items in Minecraft are the heads and skulls that you can get from mobs, but very few people actually know how to get them. There are six types of heads that can be obtained in Minecraft: Zombie, Creeper, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Ender Dragon, and Steve. Zombie Head

Zombie heads can be gained in a very similar manner to Creeper heads and Skeleton heads in Minecraft. Getting Zombie heads isn’t difficult, but you will need a Charged Creeper. Charged Creepers are Creepers that have been struck by lightning; the lightning causes them to become “charged” and a lot more powerful, you’ll need at least one if you want to get a Zombie head. Once you’ve got a Charged Creeper, lure over a Zombie within the Charged Creeper’s blast radius. Once the Zombie is in close enough proximity, ignite the Charged Creeper and run away as fast as you can! If the Zombie is caught and killed in the blast, it should drop a Zombie head.

Creeper Head

Like with the Zombie head, you’ll need a Charged Creeper to get a Creeper head in Minecraft. However, this one is slightly trickier because you have to make sure the regular Creeper doesn’t explode before the Charged Creeper can kill it. Like with the Zombie, you’ll need to lure a regular Creeper into a Charged Creeper’s blast radius before igniting the Charged Creeper; make sure the regular Creeper doesn’t get close enough to detonate while you’re luring it. After the Creeper is within close proximity to the Charged Creeper, ignite the Charged Creeper and run away as fast as you can. If the creeper is killed in the blast, it should drop a Creeper head.

Skeleton Skull

Skeleton skulls can be obtained through the same method used to obtain Zombie heads and Creeper heads in Minecraft. Although luring Skeletons within a Charged Creeper’s blast radius can be annoying because they’ll likely be shooting you the entire time, it’s at least slightly easier than luring a Creeper. Lure the Skeleton over (while wearing some Projectile Protection enchanted armor) to the Charged Creeper and ignite the Charged Creeper. After it’s been ignited, run away to a safe distance as fast as you can. If the Skeleton is killed in the Charged Creeper’s blast, it should drop a Skeleton skull.

Wither Skeleton Skull

Wither Skeleton skulls are easier to get in the sense that you don’t need a Charged Creeper to get them, though it can still be dangerous. Wither Skeletons are the only mobs that drop their heads upon being killed by a player, though the chance of a Wither Skeleton dropping its head when killed is only 2.5%. To get Wither Skeleton skulls in Minecraft, you’ll need to find and kill at least a few dozen Wither Skeletons (unless you’re just incredibly lucky and get a head-drop right away). To do this, you’ll need to find a Nether Fortress in Minecraft’s Nether dimension; once you’ve found a Fortress, just kill as many Wither Skeletons as you can until you get a head.

Ender Dragon Head

Ender Dragon heads are, surprisingly, some of the easiest mob heads to get in Minecraft (sort of). Ender Dragon heads can be found on the ends of End Ships in the End dimension. Once you go to the End and defeat the Ender Dragon, you’ll be able to explore the End Cities. Once you get to one of the End Cities, start looking for an End Ship. End Ships are large, boat-like structures full of loot and unique blocks; Ender Dragon heads aren’t the only items worth getting from these structures! Once you’re done looting, head to the front of End Ship, where you should see an Ender Dragon head being used as a decoration. All you have to do to retrieve the head is break it and pick it up!

Steve Head

Unfortunately, there is no current method for getting the Steve head in Survival mode in Minecraft. The only way to get a Steve head in Minecraft is by getting it from the inventory menu in Creative mode. Because of this, the Steve head is the rarest head in Minecraft.
