How to Get a Charged Creeper in Minecraft
Charged creepers don’t naturally spawn, so you’ll have to make one yourself if you want to get your hands on one of these kamikaze creepers. Thankfully, creating them isn’t too hard; if you’re playing in survival mode, the hardest part about making a charged creeper will be collecting the tools to do it.
Charged creepers are created when lightning strikes within a 4 block radius of a normal creeper, which is an extremely rare occurrence in Minecraft. Thankfully, there are now ways that players can manipulate lightning in the game, so making charged creepers is a whole lot easier! Charging a creeper still takes some expensive tools and a lot of patience, but it’s totally worth it!
If a charged creeper explodes near a mob, such as a zombie or a skeleton, that mob will drop its head once it’s killed! If a charged creeper explodes near multiple mobs, only one of the mobs killed in the blast will drop its head (sorry, you won’t be able to get multiple heads per blast). This is the only way to get mob heads in Minecraft, so charging creepers is well worth the effort! If you want to charge your very own creeper in Minecraft, follow these steps:
- Open and log into survival Minecraft.
- Enchant a Trident with the Channeling enchantment.
- Once you have your enchanted trident, go outside while it’s raining in the game. Hunt down a creeper, but make sure not to get close enough to set it off.
- Once you’ve found your creeper, throw the enchanted Trident at it (be sure it’s a direct hit) to summon a lightning strike.
- Once the lightning strikes the creeper, it should transform it into a charged creeper immediately, so be sure that you aren’t standing too close!
