How to get Mechanical Parts in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6

Mechanical parts come from swinging your pickaxe at any vehicle, such as a car, trailer, bus, or tractor. Each vehicle usually drops around one or two mechanical parts. If you’re salvaging a working car, be careful not to cause it to explode while you’re near it. So now that you know how to get mechanical parts, how can you use them?

Mechanical parts are used to enhance weapons through the crafting menu. Open up your inventory and tap on the crafting menu to see what you can improve. You can typically upgrade any gun you have in your inventory, as long as you have enough mechanical parts. For example, you can upgrade a gray submachine gun into an uncommon submachine gun with four mechanical parts. The new weapon has a better fire rate and increases the rarity by one.

The process is simple, but it’s a new mechanic, so we wanted to give you a quick rundown. A few of the weekly quests revolve around gathering mechanical parts and upgrading and crafting items. You can also hunt wildlife to gather animal bones and meat to craft primal weapons, a hunter’s cloak, and upgrade your bow.
