Today is an exciting day for New Horizons players, as the 1.2.0 update has officially rolled out this morning. One big new feature is the introduction of Leif the Sloth and his Garden Shop. To update your game, click on the home button, hit the minus button, and update from there. This guide will show you how to get Leif to show up in Animal Crossing New Horizons in case you are not seeing him.
How to Get Leif To Show Up
Leif the Sloth is a new character that puts up a shop in your town square for Nature Day. He sells various shrubs and other items that are listed further down in this article.
To get Leif to show up today, you need to make sure to update your game before you start playing. Players are reporting that they have updated their game and are not seeing Leif. Unfortunately, if you want Leif to show up on your first day you may need to Time Travel. Some players are seeing him and some players are seeing other merchants instead.
Starting your game without updating today will cause another merchant to spawn on your island, which will prevent Leif from showing up. There are a few possible solutions to get Leif to show up if this is the case.
If you have already played Animal Crossing New Horizons on April 23 without updating, you will need to Time Travel to the next day to get Leif. After Time Traveling to the next day, you will see him in the plaza.
