Survivor.io has plenty that will keep players coming back for more. Diverse stages, seemingly unending hordes of zombies, and of course plenty of weapons to slay the undead. Developers Kongregate Inc. have done a great job of keeping gameplay fun and balanced as well as updated. Though despite changes and upgrades, the core gameplay remains the same. The more zombies you kill, the more XP you get. This XP can be used to purchase weapons and survivor upgrades. Both options can be upgraded, but what truly sets apart Survivor.io from other zombie survival games is the symbiosis between survivor upgrades and weapons. Weapons can be upgraded to five stars, though there is a way to upgrade to six stars, and make it an even deadlier weapon. Though for this to happen, players must have a certain survivor upgrade. This incentivizes multiple ways to play.
Though for this entry, we’ll be going over a specific weapon: the Laser Launcher. Not only will the method of acquisition be mentioned, but an overall review of the weapon as well as its six star variant.
Getting the Laser Launcher in Survivor.io

The Laser Launcher is a new weapon that players can use to fight the zombie hordes. Acquiring the weapon is simple: it’s pure luck. Each XP purchase is random, so players just have to hope they get the laser launcher early on. Though there is always the option to re-roll once for another chance.
Focusing more on crowd control. When first picked up, the weapon spawns two lasers that come down and zigzags across the map. Burning any zombies to a crisp. Further upgrades to the weapon increase the time the lasers are active as well as how many lasers are in play. To evolve the laser into its six star variant, players must have the Energy Cube survivor upgrade equipped. This makes the lasers a circular column, spinning around you before disappearing.
While the Laser Launcher is good at crowd control, it pales in damage to other weapons like the soccer ball that does the same thing. Though if paired with the Lightning Rod, can offer two six star weapons for one survivor upgrade. Just another strategy for players to think about when going into a level.
