The Gravedigger’s Shovel is one of the new craftable items in Terraria Journey’s End. To craft the shovel, you need to make sure you have an anvil of any kind. Next, you need 12 Lead Bars and 3 Wood. The next requirement is setting up a Graveyard Biome.

To create a Graveyard Biome, set up eight or so Tombstones next to each other. Place the anvil next to the Graveyard Biome to create some new items like the Gravedigger’s Shovel.

This item allows you to dig soft tiles nine blocks at a time, which makes it great for digging graves, hence the name. In other words, you can dig dirt, snow, sand, and other soft tiles in large bunches. Unfortunately, the pickaxe functions like a regular pickaxe when it comes to resource blocks like copper, iron, silver, etc.

Either way, this is an excellent item for digging through biomes near the surface and quickly getting some good depth. For other Terraria related content, check out our Lava Fishing guide, and our list of Terraria Journey’s End Seeds.
