The Animal Crossing New Horizons’ first wave of summer updates is out as of July 2. This update introduces a new category of critters into the game: deep-sea creatures. It also brings swimming to the game. Players can now swim around their islands in search of a variety of sea creatures. Before you start swimming, you will need to purchase a swimsuit. Here’s how to get a wet suit in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
How to get a wet suit in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Before you can hop in the water and start swimming, you need to buy a wet suit. Head to the Nook Miles terminal, or machine, to pick one up for 800 Nook Miles. You can also visit the Nook’s Cranny. It will cost you around 3,000 Bells to pick one up there, and you can choose from a variety of different wet suits.
The default wet suit is the Horizontal-striped wet suit, which is available in red, blue, yellow, and black stripes. There is also the leaf-print swimsuit, and most likely many more to be discovered. It’s worth noting that you cannot swim around in rivers, as we already tried that.
Equip your wet suit onto your character and hop into the ocean to start swimming. Hold A to swim around and paddle, or tap A to do breaststrokes. We have a complete list of Animal Crossing New Horizons deep-sea creatures that you can check out. Having a list handy will help you fill out that Critterpedia. For reference, there are 40 total sea creatures available in this update.
