Since its release in 2013, Grand Theft Auto Online has remained a favorite of multiplayer fans worldwide. The game has changed a lot since then with the release of its many content updates including recent ones. Like all multiplayer games, there are technical issues. GTA Online has several of these in fact even though many were left behind on the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the game. A common issue with the game is the “Failed to Host a GTA Online Session.” We here at Game Journalist will let you know what steps you can take to fix this issue.
Checking the GTA Online Server Status
The error is usually caused by a problem on Rockstar’s end so it’s helpful to check out the server status of GTA Online before doing anything. You can do this by heading to the service status section of Rockstar’s customer support website. This section shows the current server status of several Rockstar services such as Red Dead Online, GTA Online, Social Club, and the Rockstar Games Launcher. There are colors that indicate the status of each service. Green means that the service is up, red means the service is down, while orange indicates that service is limited.
How to Contact Rockstar
Once you’ve checked the server status, head over homepage for customer support. Here you’ll be able to find help. You’ll want to click on GTA 5, then select Online Play. From there select the platform you’re having issues with and then you’ll be able to submit a support ticket to Rockstar. This will give you a way of communicating with someone from customer support. You’ll be communicating with them through email so it’s best that you take your time and describe your situation in detail to them so that they can do their best to help you.
