This error code occurs when there is too many dropped items on the ground that have not been picked up. These dropped items usually consist of:

  • Ammo
  • Orbs of Power
  • Engrams
  • Glimmer

These are the solutions to fixing this error:

Clear Cache

Playing on Steam? These are the steps you can take to clear cache:

  • Go into Settings on Steam.
  • Go to Downloads under the Settings tab.
  • At the bottom of the Settings tab, click on the button that reads ‘Clear Download Cache‘.
  • Click ‘Ok‘ to confirm your choice.
  • Put the game back on.

To clear cache on console:

  • Turn off Destiny 2.
  • Power down the console.
  • Unplug the power cord at the back of the console. Only once the console is fully turned off.
  • Wait 5-minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the console.
  • Put the game back on.

Restart the Game

Sometimes the simple method is the best. After seeing the code, simply exit out of the game and restart. Most players found this solution works for them.

Reinstall the Game

If restarting the game did not work, you can try reinstalling Destiny 2. These are the methods to restarting the game on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox.

Steam Users

  • Go to your Steam Library.
  • Find Destiny 2 under the list of games you own.
  • Click on Destiny 2, taking you to the product page.
  • Select the cog to the right of the screen, underneath the game’s photo and on the same bar as the green ‘PLAY’ button.
  • With the cog selected, click ‘Manage‘. This will bring up more options.
  • Select ‘Uninstall‘.

Xbox Users

  • Go to ‘My Games and Apps‘ on the Home screen.
  • Select Destiny 2 from your list.
  • Click Menu and select ‘Manage Game Option‘.
  • Select ‘Uninstall All.’ You will be prompted again, click ‘Uninstall‘ when you are.

PlayStation Users

  • On the Home screen, go up using the D-pad controls. Go to Settings.
  • Scroll to ‘System Storage Management‘ and click on it.
  • Click on ‘Applications‘.
  • Scroll until you find Destiny 2. Press Options and then ‘Delete‘ and ‘Select All‘.
  • Confirm the decision by clicking ‘Delete’ option once more and finally click ‘Ok‘.

To reinstall on console, you require the physical game disc. Simply put the disc back into the console to begin its installation once more. If you purchase this game digitally, go to the purchase page of the game via the store page on PlayStation, Xbox and PC and click ‘Install‘. Because you have already bought the game you will be able to reinstall this game as many times as you like. This is especially useful when experiences error codes such as code: Guitar in Destiny 2.
